The real work is about to start if you recently use the best smartphones after you buy a brand-new phone. So, follow the tips below.
1. Backup your current phone
You don’t want to lose any of your old data, after all, and you should probably be backing up your smartphone anyhow, so this may sound obvious.
One further advantage of backing up specific components of your old phone is that it will be simpler to transfer all of your data to your new device when you get it.
We’d advise backing up your WhatsApp account, for instance, so that you can access all of your conversations and photographs on your new smartphone, or backing up your photo gallery onto Google Photos or Apple Photos, so that everything is stored in one location.
Early data backup is crucial because it will save you time. It can take a shockingly long time to back up all of your images and WhatsApp data if you have a lot of them saved. Making an early start ensures that your accounts are prepared for your new device.
2. Purchase practical add-ons
Planning for every possibility, namely dropping the new phone, should be done before you even take it out of the box. Nothing is worse than shattering a brand-new, pricey smartphone shortly after taking it out of the packaging.
In order to be ready when you’re ready to take your new phone out of the box, I’d advise browsing around for any protective gear and accessories you might need before you get your new phone.
It goes without saying that a case is essential, but some buyers also enjoy purchasing accessories like PopSocket phone grips, gym phone holders, wallet folios, stands, portable power banks, and more. Though they’re frequently rather cheap and flimsy, some phones come with thin silicone cases in the package that can be beneficial to tide you over until you acquire a good case.
3. Install apps
When I acquire a new phone, the first thing I always do is to start downloading all of my apps right away. You might think it’s strange to rush something like this because you can surely store it for later. But I’d advise carrying it out right now.
This is due to the fact that you presumably use a lot of apps, and downloading them all at once can take a long time. Every time I get a new phone, I download my 20GB worth of apps, and it can take hours for them to all be functional. Not even pre-installed program upgrades, which would also need to be performed, are included in that.
If you choose to transfer your data from your old mobile to a new one, an option that will be provided when you start using your new smartphone, this stage may occasionally be simple. However, we’ve observed that when we do it this way, some of our apps strangely aren’t transferred. Check to see if you have all the new apps on your old device.
4. Make your design unique
When a new ship is preparing to go on its inaugural voyage, it is customary to break a bottle of champagne on the ship’s hull (at least in the UK). Setting up your phone’s personalizations is the equivalent in the world of smartphones.
This entails customizing your lock screen, wallpaper, widgets, always-on display option (if your phone supports it), and color scheme (if you’re using a more recent version of Android).
On your phone’s home screen, you can discover the most of these settings by just tapping and holding; but, the Settings app has more options. You can truly make the phone feel “yours” and transform it from “some phone you just got” to “your phone” by using these personalization settings.
Having all of your installed apps on your device might be helpful for design modifications like adding widgets and creating your home screen because you can arrange and sort them that way.
5. Modify the battery settings
Your phone’s battery will be quickly depleted if it is installing apps, browsing potential wallpapers, and performing other typical setup procedures.
Over time, power consumption will level out, but this should serve as a reminder to review your battery settings and adjust them as needed based on how you use your phone. You can access your options by heading into the Settings app, selecting Battery, and then selecting the brand that offers you the most battery settings options.
