Bill Gates is one of the most influential people when it comes to technology, and it’s clear that an expert like him has an opinion that is strong enough and well-grounded enough to speak out on certain topics. Just like he did recently when he talked about AI and where the business is going.
Bill Gates, who started Microsoft, thinks that artificial intelligence (AI) is already making changes to the economy of the future. “If AI already knows what you want now, why waste time using a search engine or buying from Amazon and other places?” asked the co-founder of Microsoft at an event called AI Forward 2023 in San Francisco on May 22, 2023. The event was put on by Goldman Sachs and SV Angel. In his speech, the investor talked about his plans for how artificial intelligence will change in the near and far future.
Bill Gates’ technological prophecy
“When a new AI tool starts to understand how people think, what they want, and how they feel, it could change how people act. Bill Gates said, “They will never go to a search site again, they will never go to a shopping site again, and they will never go to Amazon again.” This yet-to-be-made AI assistant will soon be able to understand a person’s wants and habits and help them “read the things they don’t have time for,” the founder of Microsoft said at the event. The businessman also said that there is a 50% chance that the winner of AI in the future will be a startup instead of a big tech company.

But the tech expert is still optimistic and thinks that Microsoft will continue to be a part of the growth, even though there are more AI start-ups in the US and they are becoming more competitive. This is shown by the fact that it put ten billion dollars into OpenAI‘s ChatGPT, which is probably the most well-known AI company in the world right now.
Also, ChatGPT is already built into MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook by Microsoft. The famous AI tool made by OpenAI was added to the Bing search engine and the Edge browser in February 2023. This should give it an edge over Google, Yahoo, Firefox, and Opera. But it’s also important to point out that ChatGPT’s competitors have also made progress in the industry, ruling certain areas with their more advanced features.
Gates also said in his speech that it won’t be long before robots take over jobs that people do by hand. The businessman said that humanoids would just make factory work cheaper and more efficient. “Also, white-collar workers [in any field] are at a high risk of being replaced as AI makes copy that is more accurate, better quality, and more convincing.”

What is artificial intelligence (AI)?
When you hear the word artificial intelligence (AI), you might think of self-driving cars, robots, ChatGPT or other AI chatbots, and visuals made artificially. However, it is equally critical to go beyond the outputs of AI to understand how the technology works and its implications for current and future generations.
AI has formally existed since the 1950s, when it was defined as a machine’s ability to do a task that previously needed human intelligence. This is a somewhat broad term that has evolved over decades of research and technical improvement.
When considering awarding intelligence to a machine, such as a computer, it is sense to begin by defining the term ‘intelligence’ – especially if you want to assess if an artificial system is actually deserving of it.
Our intelligence distinguishes humans from other living entities and is vital to the human experience. According to some experts, intelligence is defined as the ability to adapt, solve issues, plan, improvise in new situations, and learn new things.
It’s perhaps not surprising that we’d want to duplicate intelligence artificially in scientific activities, given that intelligence is sometimes considered as the cornerstone for human experience.

And today’s AI systems may exhibit certain characteristics of human intelligence, such as learning, problem-solving, perception, and even a limited range of creativity and social intelligence.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot that employs natural language processing to simulate human conversation. The language model is capable of responding to queries and composing a variety of written content, such as articles, social media posts, essays, code, and emails.
ChatGPT is a type of generative AI – a tool that enables users to input prompts and receive human-like images, text, or videos generated by AI.
ChatGPT is comparable to automated chat services found on customer service websites in that users can ask it queries and request clarification on its responses. The GPT, which stands for “Generative Pre-trained Transformer,” alludes to ChatGPT’s request processing and response formulation. ChatGPT is trained using reinforcement learning through human feedback and reward models that rank the most appropriate responses. This feedback contributes to the enhancement of ChatGPT with machine learning to enhance future responses.
