According to a source, Apple is considering retiring three MacBook models this month.
The 11-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro models released in early 2014 may be added to Apple’s defunct products list, according to PCMag.
According to an internal document received by MacRumors, this means they won’t be eligible for hardware repairs and will only be eligible for “battery-only repairs in specific regions for a limited time.”
According to MacRumors, Apple does this for any device that hasn’t been sold in over seven years. Since 2020, Apple has listed all three laptops as “vintage” goods, which is odd to type.
MacBooks are maturing at a breakneck pace.
Apple’s website has more information regarding which products it considers “vintage” and “obsolete.”
