One of the oldest car companies, Bertone, wants to get back in the spotlight, and the incredible Bertone GB110 looks like it can do just that.
The company was started by Giovanni Bertone in 1912 in Turin, Italy. It designed cars like the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and Opel, but it went out of business in 2014 after filing for bankruptcy. We hadn’t heard from them in years, but then all of a sudden they told us about plans to get back together, and now they’re back with this super sports car.

The Bertone GB110 is the newest member of the speed elite. It has an incredible 811 lb-ft of torque and will reach a nice 8,400 rpm, no matter what its engine is. But that’s not all. The Bertone GB110 has something else to show that is very interesting.
And the reason is that the Italian company is going to power its new car with fuel made from plastic waste. This will make it a huge car that is also the greenest car on the market.
The company Select Fuel is in charge of making the fuel for the internal combustion engine out of polycarbonate materials. Bertone hasn’t said exactly how much each car will have, but it probably won’t be enough for the whole car’s life.

The Bertone GB110 is too fast because it has 1100 hp. In a crazy 2.79 seconds, the car goes from 0 to 100 km/h. At the level of the world’s best hypercars.
Then there’s the top speed, which is a separate issue. Bertone says it’s 380 km/h, which is about what you’d expect from a hypercar (just to give you an idea, the Pininfarina Battista goes 350 km/h).
The transmission is known to be a seven-speed transmission, and the car is four-wheel drive, so driving enthusiasts should be happy with it. But does it work by hand or by itself? Bertone hasn’t said anything about that yet.
In the same way, the company is being very secretive about the car’s chassis. The company says that the GB110’s chassis is “built from parts made by a German company.” We don’t know what kind of German car it is or who made it.

At least we know that the GB110 has independent suspension at both ends with double wishbones. It also has shocks that can be adjusted in four ways.
As for where the style comes from, it comes from many different places. Bertone says that the design is based on the company’s famous wedge-shaped cars from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Even the amazing Lancia Stratos HF Zero concept car is on this list. The fact that the Bertone GB110 has doors with scissor hinges is also a plus. The stacks of trapezoid-shaped tailpipes are also a nice touch. Yes, this is a car that does live up to the Bertone name.

People who like sports cars have been waiting a long time for Bertone to come back. After filing for bankruptcy, the company hasn’t been around for almost 10 years, so the Bertone GB110 is a welcome return from one of the most famous names in motorsports styling.
The fact that so much is still unknown about the GB110 is, of course, something that keeps the coin in the air. We don’t know how the engine is put together, how much it weighs, where it was made, or, of course, how much it costs.
Even so, the Bertone GB110 is a very interesting prospect for 2023, and with only 33 confirmed units of this amazing hypercar, it is sure to give people a lot to talk about.
