The new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is out in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Marvel Studios released a new video for their next big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure, headlined by Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, in between the 2022 Super Bowl on Sunday. Marvel India released the five local-language trailers on its official YouTube account shortly after. Many fans believe a disembodied voice belongs to Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier — from the X-Men movies — in the new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teaser.
“I have the same dream every night.” “And then the nightmare begins,” Strange (Cumberbatch) says in the new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, as we witness him go through terrifying scenarios. “I did what I had to do to safeguard our world,” he says as we watch him scrutinize a series of crimson blobs. “You cannot control everything, Strange,” his friend-mentor and new Sorcerer Supreme Wong (Benedict Wong) reminds him. You’ve established a portal between worlds, and we have no idea who or what will pass through.” Wanda states Vision believed the multiverse was “hazardous,” which adds to the Strange-Wanda exchange from the first teaser.
After his old friend-turned-foe Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) tells him that his “desecration of reality won’t go unpunished,” Strange is dragged off by robots to what appears to be a high-council chamber midway through the new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer. “We should tell him the truth,” a man who is never seen — except for a part of his bald head — says to Strange. This is the moment that has everyone talking, because the Internet thinks the “Mystery Voice” credited in the teaser belongs to Stewart’s Professor Xavier, who has played the character six times, the most recent time being Logan in 2017.
Following that, the new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer shifts into high gear, with Strange plunging down strange universes (does one of them include dinosaurs or am I crazy? ), and Wanda battling off a foe who is actually pulsing with energy. “You defy the odds and emerge as a hero.” As we see a version of Wanda visiting a version of Scarlet Witch in what appears to be the current version of her (destroyed) home from WandaVision, a disgruntled Scarlet Witch tells him, “I do it and become the enemy.” She continues, “That doesn’t seem fair.”
The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teaser closes with a glimpse of a ghastly Strange with multiple hands, before showing off the new dimension-traveling America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Wong’s abilities.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also stars Michael Stühlbarg as Strange’s rival surgeon Nicodemus West and Rachel McAdams as Strange’s former girlfriend and colleague Christine Palmer, in addition to Cumberbatch, Ejiofor, Olsen, Wong, and Gomez.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is directed by Sam Raimi (Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy), with a screenplay written by Loki creator Michael Waldron. Danny Elfman returns as composer following Doctor Strange, with John Mathieson as cinematographer, Bob Murawski as editor, and John Mathieson as cinematographer. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, is the lone producer. Executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll, and Jamie Christopher. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a Marvel Studios project, with Disney handling global distribution.
