“I just love the ordinariness of the mundanity – the non-achievement outsider aspect of him that, no matter how long he’s here, he’ll always be an outsider,” he explained.

“I just thought he was a really interesting character with none of the clichés you’d expect from a leading detective or something. So, yeah, [the anti-hero aspect] did pique my interest. And I believe it was inspired by the novel as well… so it was simply a gift.”
