The Best Nintendo Switch Games of 2021

With the new Nintendo Switch OLED available, you might be considering buying one for portable gaming. If you’re looking for more affordable options, consider the Nintendo Switch Lite or a salary raise.

We will be talking about various games you can play on the Switch since the console’s library has increased and become one of the largest ones for handheld gaming so far (until the Steam Deck is released). Are you looking for warzone hacks, you can take help from Aim Helper.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

If you’re older than 19 or 20, you probably have heard of the Legend of Zelda franchise and hold it near your heart even. The Breath of the Wild is one of the best games you can play on the Switch within the Zelda franchise, outselling the console itself on its release day.

The game is extremely picturesque and quite calming when looked at altogether. The game is set in Hyrule, and the story begins with a rumbling storm rolling in, followed by pounding rain. You are in tall grass, ferocious from the wind.

Next thing you know, lightning targets you and electrocutes you. “Why is this happening?” you may ask. Well, your spear and shield are metal, an excellent conductor for electricity.

Such a beginning to a game within the Zelda franchise is new and exciting for the fans since the Breath of the Wild hosts one element that is fresh compared to other Zelda games: surprise. Past games might become monotone after a while, but that has now changed.

The aim of the game is to restore peace to Hyrule and to defeat bosses, whilst presenting players with an open-world game that’s yet to be discovered, following a story but still leaving players to wonder over what else there is to discover.

2. Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight might arguably be the best game available for the Switch. Set in the subterranean world of Hallownest, with extremely deep lore, history, and goals for a 2D Metroidvania Kingdom-style game.

The game itself feels very free and is filled with details and things to explore. In addition to this, the art style, soundtrack, and ambiance of the game give each area its own unique feel depending on where you are on the map.

The aim of the game is to pique your curiosity. You must hunt for secrets and unlock abilities whilst exploring this magical universe underground. A massive perk to this game is when you discover new abilities, you must go back to previously discovered areas on the map to further unleash new secrets and adventures, making the story feel captivating and endless.

The hand-drawn animation style makes this game a joy to play, accentuating the game’s calm feel beside the excitement players get to feel when uncovering the deep history of fallen heroes, past wars, and new feelings of hope.

3. Hades

Hades is an isometric rogue-like that can be enjoyed by everyone. The storyline is based on the Greek myth of Sisyphus, where a soul was doomed to pushing a boulder uphill without rest, having to start again every time, since it constantly rolled back. The game’s style is the same: an uphill battle against all randomized enemies to finally make your way out of Hell.

You too will fail and restart, maintaining solely your stats, skills, and relationships.

Each time that metaphorical boulder rolls back, your character gets a little stronger through god-like powers you unlock and strengthen during the progression of the game.

You play as the son of Hades, Zagreus, through an isometric perspective while fighting undead enemies within the labyrinth of the Underworld. Your character can wield six different weapons each with four different variants, leaving you with the freedom to choose a weapon according to your playstyle.

Greek mythology is wonderfully incorporated through the characters, for example how Zag’s family members are supportive of his rebellion, but not only due to familial bonds, but to rub Hades the wrong way, just like in original mythological stories.

The game’s overall art style looks hand-drawn, flowing, and colorful, making the constant action seem like fireworks exploding in slow motion, but the most noteworthy aspect of the game would be the soundtrack.

The soundtrack sends a cocktail of rock and lute into players’ ears, finishing in a melodic blend perfectly describing the Underworld. A large amount of the music is diegetic meaning it is sung by the Gods themselves in a symphonic hymn.

4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Before Ultimate was released it was probably suspicious to fans how they would top the previous Super Smash Bros., but they did it.

The core of the game hasn’t changed, you are still choosing between all the characters in the universe of Nintendo and a few other franchises, totaling out at 74, and are being put into fighting to beat the living daylights out of each other until one of you is damaged enough or flung out of boundaries in one of 104 maps.

To make these well-known characters more varied, there are Spirits, which slightly modify the way the game is played out and the abilities they have, totaling out at a staggering 1297 unique fighters.

The newest addition is “World of Light”, a new adventure mode where a new entity named Galeem slowly picks off characters to create a new pure world, thus the name. The only character left unaffected is the director’s favorite, the rotund pink orb creature named Kirby.

The backdrop of the adventures is in a watercolor style, and during your game experience, you will be able to discover the massive world that lies ahead, with certain adventures being secret.

5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Be prepared to be transported into the cutest world ever. In this game, you must create a character and dress to impress a guy, gal, or any animal within the game. You must develop your own world, all during which you meet unique animal friends with special themes.

The main change is for the artistic/designer players.

The island’s border has been greatly increased, allowing for you to leech your creativity far beyond your own house. You are also now able to customize terrain and nature within the game, so you are allowed to set your mind and creativity roam free.

Prepare for the game and design to start off slow, it will take a good amount of real days to create your dream world. The island is also slowed down in the beginning, giving players the challenge of being patient to achieve their goals.

You are finally allowed to place anything anywhere, and the terraforming tools allow users to practice their landscaping skills to, say, make a zen temple on a hillside or a landbridge or a love lake with romantic details. You will have to grind to achieve these though.

There are also now several different social gaming modes, even on the same Switch. The problem with this is you get to play with a friend with your own joycon on the same console, resulting in a quite chaotic gameplay experience.

The games listed here are all very different from each other, leaving room for numerous types of individuals, so take your pick!
