InDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, has introduced the Underdog Tech Award, a new international prize for the founders of the best tech firms outside of major tech hubs and startup communities.
The Underdog Tech Award was established to assist technology firms that are successful despite encountering disadvantages due to their location, such as low resources and lack of access to funding and significant events.
The Underdog Tech Award is open to early-stage technology businesses located outside of major IT centres. Startups that make a major beneficial impact on their communities (or have the ability to do so) and have high prospects for quick growth are eligible for inclusion. The first step, the application phase, begins on September 19 and concludes on December 1, 2023. During this time, all applications will be examined.
The award nominees and top 20 contenders will be determined and shortlisted during the second stage, which begins in December 2023.
“At inDrive, we aim to unlock human potential and expand access to education and other social benefits,” says inDrive Group President Mark Loughran. “We believe it is critical to assist those who are initially deprived or have difficulty gaining access to the necessary resources: for example, we have already established the Aurora Tech Award, an award for women in IT, as well as other initiatives to assist those who need and deserve it.”

The winner of the Underdog Tech Award receives recognition and a monetary award (the prize fund is $60,000), as well as the following essential benefits: All startups who apply will receive useful feedback from various venture and investment funds, and selected contenders will also receive feedback from the award’s judges.
