WhatsApp users are now getting the message reactions to the feature that was announced last month. It works like Facebook’s reactions: you long-press on a WhatsApp message and then choose the emoji you want to use.
You can choose from six emojis right now, as Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, shows in the Facebook post below. However, WhatsApp has promised to add more emojis and skin tones in the future.
Some users of the latest version of WhatsApp can already use the message reactions feature, but it will take about a week or two for it to reach all WhatsApp users around the world.
WhatsApp users can now share bigger files and respond to messages with emojis. The maximum file size that can be sent from one user to another has been raised from 100MB to 2GB.
Also, WhatsApp has raised the number of people who can take part in a group chat from 256 to 512. But WhatsApp says it is “slowly rolling out the ability” to add up to 512 people to a group, so you’ll have to wait before you can add more than 256 people to a WhatsApp group.
