With the release of the Xiaomi 12T series, the company is giving its top-of-the-line phone series a makeover. The series of phones came out on October 6 in China. Xiaomi is making an effort with this series to improve the specs of the phone’s internal parts and back camera. Let’s look at the Xiaomi 12T Pro’s most important features, pros, and cons.
Xiaomi 12T Pro Review and Full Phone Specifications
Design
It is 163.1mm tall, 75.9mm wide, and 8.6mm thick. It weighs around 205g.
Even though the new finishes aren’t nearly as pretty to look at as the dark grey of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, there isn’t much difference in design between the 12 Pro and the new ones.
The black color of the new 12T Pro doesn’t seem all that special or out of the ordinary. However, the phone can also be bought in silver and blue. Both lack the sophisticated and elegant finish of the grey from the previous generation. Despite this, it has a certain charm that makes it quite appealing.
The back panel also has a light frosting, which is ostensibly meant to keep fingerprints and dirt from sticking to it. Unfortunately, oil stains and fingerprints kept showing up, so it would be best to put a case on the phone.
The front screen is perfectly flat, which shows that the goal of the designer was to make the product as useful as possible. It gives you a flat, wider area to write on, and you’ll be less likely to touch the display’s edges by accident.
Display
In terms of the display, the specs are nothing out of the ordinary, at least for a flagship phone. This means that the huge AMOLED display, which is 6.67 inches, can have refresh rates of up to 120Hz, and the refresh rate can also be changed, at least to some degree.
But unlike other top-of-the-line displays, this one can’t be changed on a granular level down to 1 Hz. Instead, the refresh rate changes between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz based on what is being watched on the screen at any given time. The touch sampling rate on the display can go up to 480Hz.
Regardless, it has more than enough going for it to be successful in what it tries to do. This includes contrast and brightness levels that are good enough for HDR content, as well as certification for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
The resolution, on the other hand, is not quite standard since it is between fullHD+ and QuadHD+. It has a resolution of 2712 by 1220, which is more than 420 pixels per inch, and should mean that it makes good clean graphics. At the very least, based on my first thoughts, it seems to have a good level of sharpness.
Performance and Hardware
The Xiaomi 12T Pro has Qualcomm’s most advanced smartphone processor, the 4nm power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 with a clock speed of up to 3.2GHz. The Qualcomm® AdrenoTM GPU and the 7th Gen Qualcomm® AI Engine are both parts of the chipset.
This piece of silicon has been used in devices like the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro and the OnePlus 10T. Geekbench 5 said that the 12T Pro’s single-core score was 1305 and its multi-core score was 4219. This shows that it has a powerful CPU that should be able to handle almost any task.
The 12T Pro comes in three different versions: with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, or with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The RAM is LPDDR5. The storage has UFS 3.1 data transfer technology, which is a good thing.
MIUI 13, which is the operating system, is powered by Android 12 and comes pre-installed on the Xiaomi 12T Pro. You might not like this program all that much because it automatically installs a lot of useless software every time you run it.

Battery
The fact that this product can hold a 5000 mAh battery is a good sign. That’s a big size, and Android phones with a cell like that usually have a good day of battery life. At the very least, it stands out for being bigger than the 4600mAh battery that came with the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro can support wired 120W turbocharging, which can charge it to 100% in 19 minutes. The charger is included in the package.
Cameras
The 12T Pro has a set of three cameras on the back. Since the main camera has 200MP, you can zoom in and still see a lot of detail. This lens has an f/1.69 aperture and a 1/1.22″ 2x zoom that works well for portraits and makes the subject stand out from the background.
It has an ultrawide 120-degree field of view and an 8MP lens with an aperture of f/2.2. There is also a 2MP macro lens with an aperture of f/2.4. Even though it has a lower resolution, the image quality is still very good.
On the video front, the 12T Pro’s rear camera series lets you record up to 8K video. 8K can only go up to 24 FPS. 720p can only film at 30 frames per second, but 4K and 1080p can film at 30 or 60 frames per second.
The 20MP front camera has a field of view of 78 degrees and a resolution of 20 MP. It has a hole size of f/2.24.
The front camera can record 1080p video at 60 frames per second. The video also works with Xiaomi SuperCut and has a great Ultra Night setting for great performance in low light.
Final Verdict
The Xiaomi 12T Pro is a unique device. In general, smartphones have reached a point where the camera is changing the most. It looks like that’s the case, but Xiaomi deserves credit for getting the most out of its SoC. It works very well for gaming and other high-load tasks, which is even more surprising given how much it costs.
Most of the camera work is good, but the main camera is what makes the show. It makes photos that are bright, interesting, and safe to share on social media. The video quality is also pretty good, so you can use this phone to make videos without looking like a beginner. Overall, the features of Xiaomi’s new flagship phone, the 12T Pro, will be very interesting to people who like smartphones.
